New York Times: Lou Reed, Rock ’n’ Roll Pioneer, Dies at 71

Lou Reed, the principal singer and songwriter in the Velvet Underground, has died, his literary agent, Andrew Wylie, said on Sunday. He was 71.
Mr. Reed died on Long Island, Mr. Wylie said. He is survived by his wife, Laurie Anderson, a songwriter and a performance artist.

The ever-so existential “Perfect Day” by Lou Reed is one of
my all time favorite songs.
And I’m a huge Luciano Pavarotti fan. So it blew me away when I came across this
video of Lou Reed and Luciano Pavarotti singing “It’s a perfect day” together.
