Thich Nhat Hanh—Living Mindfully, Living Peacefully

October 25, 2011
Warner Theatre
Washington, DC

Spend an evening with Thich Nhat Hanh, peace activist, poet, human rights advocate, and one of the most respected and recognized Zen masters in the world. In this inspiring talk and practice, you learn to see that if you are in the here and now, there are more than enough reasons to be happy. Even if there are things in the present that you dislike, there are still plenty of positive conditions for your happiness. For example, if you are walking in the garden and notice a tree is dying, you may feel so badly about that tree that you are unable to enjoy the rest of the beautiful garden. Will you allow one dying tree to destroy your appreciation of all other trees that are still alive, vigorous, and beautiful? Together we learn how to look again, see that the garden is indeed beautiful, and recognize that by living mindfully we can also live peacefully.
