Dancing naked in the rain at Liberty and Main

Some people feel the rain.
Others just get wet.
It was my birthday
and all I can say
is that it was - a great day.
I got up at the crack of noon
and that was way too soon;
and off to the Off Track Art studio I went;
in love with the world and quite content.
But all I wanted to do
was let loose – footloose.
So I spiked my hair
with a big dab of mousse;
it had quite a flair
I did some art;
I figured that was a good start.
I played “Birthday”
from the White Album
At 78 speed over and over ad nauseum.
I would like you to dance,
take a cha-cha-chance.
I thought of Roy Batty
and pondered if androids
dream of electric sheep.
But as I’m sure ya know - I deny
being a Cyborg
and I certainly can’t fly.
I’m never bored.
I've seen things you people
wouldn't believe.
I wouldn’t deceive.
Attack ships on fire
off the shoulder of Orion.
I watched C-beams glitter
in the dark near the Tannhauser gate
In the end
I was thinking of you.
So I painted my toenails blue;
and danced naked in the rain
in the parking lot at Liberty and Main.
