Prometeus - The Media Revolution part 2

Prometeus - The Media Revolution part 2

In the year 2015 people have access to a deep information… However the press as you know it has ceased to exist. The road to 2015 began in the late 20th century.

Hey Truck Dude, some things are best left in the garage

SEPTEMBER 27, 2009 http://community.adn.com/adn/node/143778

Dear Truck Dude,

You were the one on 15th Avenue about two weeks ago on a Friday. I pulled up behind you around Karluk Street. I had a headache. You had plastic man parts hanging from your tow hitch.

It might not have bothered me, as I have seen this kind of thing before, but it wasn't just you, it was also the dude next to you. And so I was trapped, staring into a vortex of swinging truck junk until the light changed.

My aching brain filled with one alarming thought: Is this going to be a trend now?

I mentioned your bumper ornament to a coworker a few days later. He said, "Oh, you mean TruckNutz." And so I Googled. It was a trend. The Nutz, which are widely available online, became a big thing last year during the presidential election after someone suggested Barack Obama get some so he could better relate to rural America. And a few states moved to ban them from the roads. They were kind of 2008, but like every other thing that becomes a thing Outside, it appeared they were catching on here 2000-late.

My Sunday, September 20, 2009 Carroll Eagle Archives column - http://tinyurl.com/yca3non - was about visiting historic Silver Run on Sept. 11, 2009.

I ended the column by sharing that another one of the great pleasures in visiting Silver Run is, you guessed it, eating. And why not; Silver Run happens to be the home of one Carroll County’s elegant fine dining experiences, “Bud’s of Silver Run.”

EAGLE ARCHIVE By Kevin Dayhoff Posted on http://www.explorecarroll.com/ 9/20/09 (Enlarge)

In a quaint small town in northern Carroll County, Silver Run, happens to be the home of one Carroll County’s elegant fine dining experiences, “Bud’s of Silver Run.” (For more about “Bud’s at Silver Run,” call them at 410-346-6816 or visit them at http://www.budsatsilverrun.com/.)

Silver Run is about eight miles north of Westminster and perhaps 20 miles south of Gettysburg, on Littlestown Pike. You will find it nestled perfectly in our county’s beautiful countryside. It is a little town that looks so pretty, you’d think that Disney or a movie production company built it.

However, it’s real. Apparently I’m not the only fan of Silver Run and Bud’s; it seems that many folks have already discovered the place. Not only was the restaurant full the evening I went, but we recognized many familiar faces there.

Washington, D.C. · September 18, 2009 · Newsgathering

Keywords: National Security; Shield Law

An amendment to the bipartisan Senate bill that would create a federal shield law for journalists will likely exclude many bloggers and internet journalists, according to the text of the amendment introduced by Democratic Sen. Charles Schumer of New York.

The amendment to the Free Flow of Information Act was quickly adopted when Sen. Schumer, a co-sponsor, introduced it yesterday at the end of a somewhat contentious Senate Judiciary Committee meeting.
